Premium Mooriver Watch Club Service Diary 2012 (part 3)

This is a brief diary of the service provided to the Premium Mooriverwatch Club (launched officially on 1st November 2009), so that everyone can catch a glimpse of what this subscription service is about.

The diary went too long and had to divide them into three parts and there is a part of the diary gone missing, from June to August 2012, which is a shame.

=====================
13:58pm, 01-01-12, some reflections on 2012:

Finally, the lightening came on the last day of 2012, when Raffles screamed, "you are a chart trader!!!!" I realised that is exactly the reason why 2012 has been such a miserable year for the Mooriver Trader. I have betrayed the key strength in mooriver trading, by mixing in a lot of fundamentals into chart reading. I have decided to wrap up the 16th Series of fun bets at a huge loss of
3003 quid in red, 127 winners and 173 losers and 12 breakevens out of 312 selections. I will kick off a new series of fun bets, based purely on chart reading, nothing else!

Looking back at 2012, I realised time and again that I had been warned about my tendency to drift into fundamentals, by MS when he bought on a dive at Standard Charter Bank shares; and Lady S when she bought into banks at their lows and Raffles almost on a daily basis.

The daily trading should really be straight forward, it always starts with the battle of the pivot and the main chart should be the hourly chart. I recall so many times when my mind dashed into yearly and quarterly charts while the short-term charts were screaming at me, the trades were in the wrong way! I often turned a blind eye to the short-term momentums.

Well, this has got to be my New Year's resolution, going back to being a chart trader and stick to the charts only and keep my eyes open to the changes on the short-term charts.

Let's see how it goes.

PS Well done, Raffles, wrapped up another 6.5k profit on the last day of December, so that makes December a profitable month at 90k profit, wow! Keep it up, buddy.

01:01am, 01-01-13, lost that short, learnt another lesson there, so that is 3003 quid in red, 127 winners and 173 losers and 12 breakevens out of 312 selections for the 16th series.

09:48am, 31-12-12, highlighted my fun short 5890.

09:46am, 31-12-12, nicked 14 quid on the euro short, so that is 2903 quid in red, 127 winners and 172 losers and 12 breakevens out of 311 selections for the 16th series.

08:37am, 31-12-12, the most likely path for ftse:

08:16am, 31-12-12, SUK2:

06:49am, 31-12-12, limit on ftse long hit at 5890, so that is 2917 quid in red, 126 winners and 172 losers and 12 breakevens out of 310 selections for the 16th series.

21:13pm, 30-12-12, highlighted my fun short 13206 as a hedge on GS.

12:35pm, 29-12-12, some weekly reflections:

"

To be honest, this is the worst year in the Club's 3-year history and this is the darkest moment for me in terms of a mooriver trader, while I seem to be getting better as
a mooriver watcher. This duality role has done its utmost damages to me in the past 12 months. I think maybe this duality problem is as difficult as the yankie Cliff problem, almost unsolvable. While I get more confident and better as a mooriver watcher, particularly in terms of medium and long-term outlooks, I am getting worse and worse in short-term trading, with the fun bets series deeply in red. In there, in this unsolvable duality problem, there must be a lesson for me to learn.

For 2012, the biggest winner is our Raffles, who netted 83k profit for December alone. While he likes to thank me for my nudges, he triumphs mainly on his own unique trading system, certainly the Rgaps look a useful hunting ground for him. Our MS has been a steady winner. Our Lady S is a bit disappointed, but still manages a few smiles in her share trading. And the silence in the Club says a lot about the rest of the members. At the height of this Club's history, I had almost 60 members, now it is a matter of who goes next and who stays on the last!

Lets have a look at my forecasts and outcomes:

FTSE100: 5980-5900 (actual: 5999-5852, correctly forecast a bearish week, the mooriver watcher is usually quite reliable!);

SPX500: 1438-1378 (actual: 1430-1387);

Barclays: 263-252 pence (actual: 269-261 pence);

BP: 437-423 pence (actual: 434-424 pence);

Gold: $1682-$1636 (Actual: $1668-$1651);

Nymex: $89.40-$.85.40 (actual: $91.50-$88.20);

Euro/dollar: $1.3306-$1.2930 (actual: $1.3284-$1.3166).

There is not a lot I can complain about the Mooriverwatcher, if I am purely a mooriverwatcher, I will be almost perfect, lol, but...

Have a nice weekend, folks."

21:50pm, 28-12-12, highlighted my fun long 5885 on GS.

21:30pm, 28-12-12, lost that one too, so that is 2924 quid in red, 125 winners and 172 losers and 12 breakevens out of 309 selections for the 16th series.

13:07pm, 28-12-12, highlighted my fun long 13010 on GS.

12:59pm, 28-12-12, lost that fun long, so that is 2824 quid in red, 125 winners and 171 losers and 12 breakevens out of 308 selections for the 16th series.

14:36pm, 27-12-12, highlighted my fun long 5973.

14:34pm, 27-12-12, chopped for a tenner, so that is 2724 quid in red, 125 winners and 170 losers and 12 breakevens out of 307 selections for the 16th series.

06:58am, 27-12-12, highlighted my fun long on spx500 1419.5.

06:33am, 27-12-12, bailing out of the ftse short at a total interest cost of a tenner, so that is 2714 quid in red, 125 winners and 169 losers and 12 breakevens out of 306 selections for the 16th series.

10:50am, 22-12-12, some weekly reflections below:

"What a week our Moostar trader Raffles has had! And he just shows how members with their own trading systems and discipline in place can take full advantage of my mooriver nudging
service/emails whereby I highlight some of my findings on the charts. Sometimes, all it takes is a change of viewpoint to suddenly see a golden trading opportunity, like the one on Thursday night
before the plunge. That was perhaps my best nudge ever. Lets have a look at Raffles emails to me, which is heart-warming to me:

The first email on 18th December:

Hi

I am not trading again this year and will go out on that high. Having made over 50K in the past 7 days. That can take a lifetime to make in the market.
Raffles
Happy Christmas to you and your family and a prosperous bullish new year.
PS I had over a 100 hits on my website directed from iii, from your post. I do not know if there were any sales. BUT the Daily Telegraph featured our hunting map in the Saturday supplement (they never told me) and orders are flooding in from it. Business is good.

Berkeley Studio Ltd
Telephone: 01568 770 117

The second email after that eventful night:
Well what a night I had!!!
When you e-mailed I went short 1000 MCH S&P at 1437.63 and placed a limit of 1422.63. Off to bed I went only to be woken up at 1.18 by all my limit alarms going off at once. That position closed.
I had set up a long order at 1396 limit 20 points (March). This was filled and closed for 20 points on 1000 lots within 5 minutes!!!
I was awake now and immediately placed another long 1000 for 3 points closed again very quickly. Then short for 3 points, but lost that one for 2.5 points.
That was far too much excitement for me at 2am, so I went back to sleep.
This morning went long 1000 MCH just before London opened for 3 points and closed successfully.
NOW I really am going to give it a break.
Raffles
PS That was 38.5K overnight!
Thank you for your nudge!!!!"

============
So overall profit on the week 88.5k, what a trader, Raffles! Well done, buddy, you shine for our mooriver Club. The key to his success is that he has a solid trading system
in place and lots of self-discipline and he keeps an open-mind towards my nudges and analyse them in his own ways to reach for his own trading decisions. That is really
the essence of this mooriver service.
=================
Lets have a look at my weekly forecasts and the actual outcomes:
FTSE100: 6060-5910 (Actual: 5987-5849);
SPX500: 1412-1518 (actual: 1388-1451);
Euro/dollar: $1.3400-$1.3150 (actual: $1.3308-$1.3144);
Nymex: $96.20-$85.50 (actual: $90.54-$86.49);
Gold: $1696-$1665(actual: $1703-$1636);
Barclays: 281-256 pence (actual: 270-253 pence);
BP: 419-438 pence (actual: 423-434 pence).
Well, correctly pinpointed that it was going to be a bullish week and on Thursday night, also alerted about the downside possibility. The Mooriverwatcher has always
outperformed the moorivertrader, which is still the issue to be tackled in 2013. But let's share Raffles' success and draw strength in the mooriver nudges. I am sure
trading will be eventually sorted as well.
Have a great weekend, now that we have passed the Doomsday and there is another one coming only after 5000 years, haha.
Take care."

10:08am, 21-12-12, what a night our flying Moostar Raffles just had:

"

16:57, 20-12-12, watch Apple shares, if it fails to build a double bottom against 500 dollars, it will open the floodgate on SPX500:

19:30pm, 19-12-12, a return to the long-term trendline will see Apple getting close to 267 dollars:

11:35am, 19-12-12, spx500 looks toppish, having completed a 5 wave crossing in an upstream moo river:

06:02am, 19-12-12, ftse100: think we will take a breather before attacking 6000‏

21:23pm, 18-12-12, my latest thoughts on Apple shares:

"

19:01pm, 18-12-12, that is all the bull fun for this week, now Apple might be going down to fill that gap:

05:22am, 17-12-12, latest thoughts on ftse:

19:53pm, 15-12-12, some weekly reflections:

"

We wobbled and didn't quite fully take advantage of the tight-range yoyoing, as we started the week with a terrible batch of weekly studies, based on one jittery moment of mine. It is hard to stick to being a bull even in a bull market, lol.

Our MS is keeping on the sideline, quitely cleverly and our Raffles is still battling the markets, our Lady S is keep it all purplely bullish, the best colour for Christmas apparently!

Lets have a look at my forecasts and outcomes:

FTSE100: 5900-5706 (actual: 5963-5891);
SPX500: 1430-1364 (actual: 1439-1411);
Euro/dollar: $1.2620-$1.2970 (actual: $1.2886-$1.3173);
Nymex: $87.03-$81.08 (actual: $87.68-$85.21);
Gold: $1714-$1617 (actual: $1723-$1690);
Barclays: 234-251 pence (actual: 247-256 pence);
BP: 426-404 pence (actual: 432-424 pence).

Well, it was a whitewash, really, one terrible jittery moment leading to a wrong weekly vision.

Hopefully, the studies this weekend are better.

Have a nice weekend, folks."

10:32am, 14-12-12, highlighted my fun long 5925.

10:29am, 14-12-12, nicked 12 quid, so that is 2696 quid in red, 124 winners and 167 losers and 12 breakevens out of 303 selections for the 16th series.

09:08am, 14-12-12, highlighted my fun short 5929.

09:04am, 14-12-12, banked 22 quid, so that is  2706 quid in red, 123 winners and 167 losers and 12 breakevens out of 302 selections for the 16th series.

19:36pm, 13-12-12, highlighted my fun long 5917.

19:22pm, 13-12-12, nicked 8 quid, so that is 2728 quid in red, 122 winners and 167 losers and 12 breakevens out of 301 selections for the 16th series.

18:18pm, 13-12-12, chopped for 30 quid and highlighted my fun short 5917, so that is 2736 quid in red, 121 winners and 167 losers and 12 breakevens out of 300 selections for the 16th series.

12:47pm, 13-12-12, bailed out for a tenner loss and highlighted my fun short 5930, so that is 2700 quid in red, 121 winners and 165 losers and 12 breakevens out of 298 selections for the 16th series.

16:31pm, 11-12-12, highlighted my fun long 5932.

16:29pm, 11-12-12, chopped for 24 quid, so that is 2690 quid in red, 121 winners and 164 losers and 12 breakevens out of 297 selections for the 16th series.

07:05am, 10-12-12, highlighted my fun short 5916.

10:40am, 08-12-12, some weekly reflections here:

"What a week, well, not a lot happened, that was the problem, was expecting a bit shooting out of the 5930 handle, but we failed to do that. Just one fun bet and it is a winner,
ironically. Had it been a bigger range week, could have banked a bit more. Let's see about that in the coming week.

Our Raffles had a profitable week, but was expecting to be a jackpot week, in the end, he still banked some 5.6k profit, not bad for a week's ups and downs.

Lets have a look at my forecasts and outcomes:

FTSE 100: 5850-6070 (actual: 5852-5925, well pinned the downside, shame about the lack of upside!);

Euro/dollar: $1.2970-$1.3300 (actual: $1.2877-$1.3127);

Nymex: $88.96-$95 (actual: $85.69-$90.33);

Gold: $1715-$1650 (actual: $1723-$1685);

SPX500: 1398-1451 (actual: 1398-1425, pinned the bottom, or pinched the bottom, what a shame about the upside for our Raffles);

Barclays: 246-260 pence (actual: 243-252 pence);

BP: 427-442 pence (actual: 421-435 pence).

The indices should let us down there. I blame the North Korean rocket! Lets see how far it goes this time!

Have a nice weekend, folks."

18:08pm, 07-12-12, banked 30 quid after divi and interest payment, so that is 2666 quid in red, 121 winners and 163 losers and 12 breakevens out of 296 selections for the 16th series.

08:03am, 03-12-12, highlighted my fun long 5885.

Is Santa in town? Is 2012 the same as the years before, where a selloff in November initiated a Santa rally in the following months into the early part of the new year?

Let's have a look at my forecasts and outcomes:

The three fake peaks are really the killers and bull traps. The bear run has finally kicked off. November is a dumping month, but it could also be that turning month for the Santa rally. "
The plunge came in the end in the past week. Perhaps I was shouting about it for too long that I failed to cash in the plunge myself.

And for this week, our shining Moostar goes to our ultra-consistent MS, who put in a solid winning week despite the turmoils in the markets. Well done, mate.

Euro/dollar: $1.2640-$1.2910 (actual: $1.2690-$1.2876).

This duality is not working well between mooriver trader and mooriver watcher, something is going to give, eventually. Meanwhile, I struggle onwards and upwards.

12:55pm, 03-11-2012, some weekly reflections:

"
The thing I like about our cool Moostar trader Raffles is that he knows when to say No to trading as he took Friday out after having had another cracking week, despite a hiccup earlier on (probably due to some of my wayward readings of the markets
this week). He is doing well and our MS is steadily settling into trading after his holidays.

Lets have a look at the forecasts and actual outcomes:

FTSE100: 5810-6025 (actual: 5762-5892);
SPX500: 1455-1410 (actual: 1436-1398);
Euro/dollar: $1.2938-$1.3325 (actual: $1.2822-$1.3021);
Gold: $1711-$1780 (actual: $1727-$1675);
Nymex: $86.10-$96.80 (actual: $87.40-$84.67);
Barclays: 225-274 pence (actual: 226-245 pence);
BP: 432-452 pence (actual: 424-450 pence).

Got it wrong really.

Have a nice weekend."

12:05pm, 03-11-2012, will be compiling the weekly studies shortly, having sorted out this blog, which crashed due to the extra length of the diary 2012.
