Another setback in mooriver fun bet
trading this week. Got frozen from the very beginning when things went really
against my weekend studies and didn't manage to switch into
the scalping mode until Wednesday,
by Friday, recovered a bit, but the fun bets are now in the red by 266 quid
with a winning trade shorting ftse stilll floating. Need to continue to trim
expectations and scalp all the way! When I do get going in scalping, it feels
very good, to be honest, need to keep in that zone, trial and error, scalp all
the way.

In terms of the fun bet trading, the
King Scalper is coming back and Wednesday was a perfect example of successful
scalping if you care to look at the records on the HQ. A bit hectic, but that
is how trading should be done, long and short as seen fit, no hesitations there
at all. It is still taking shape for this mooriver scalping with a few setbacks
along the way as old habits die hard. The fun bet series is at 34 quid in
profit with an outstanding scalping bet in paper loss, so we are more or less
back to square one for the new series, which is running at a fast and furious
pace.
In terms of Mooriverwatching, this
must be a disaster week, as I didn't deem this one as a Black Swan Week, and
went about it as usual, without adjusting for the unusual possibilities.
Before we compare reality with
fantasy, we have to congratulate our MS as the Moostar Trader of the week as he
shone like a star, pinpointing the downwards movement very nicely. Well done,

Was having a purple run until
Friday, was having one winner after another, which is very heart-warming. Then,
my greed took me away from indices to the crazy oilie and got
punished again. I have since removed
oil from my trading list, so I won't see it and won't trade it any more, though
will still study it for the benefit of those in the wider audience
who might be more concerned about
the price of oil in terms of its impact on the economy. The fun bets series
stands at 675 quid in the red, need a black plunge on the SPX500 to wipe out
all the redness there in one go. I am just a bit concerned whether my forecasts
are actually tainted with this inner desire this weekend, as there is that
ongoing
short on SPX500 from Friday, which
is currently in profit.

foundations.

make amends for that.

to April Fool's Day already. Well, it has not been a great start to 2012, well,
I got well stuck in some mud in Q1. Without a sticky Tuesday, the past week

Well, for me, the past week has been
one of enlightenment as I suddenly see what I need to see and I am sure this is
going to improve trading for the weeks ahead. For now though, the bad mistake
on Thursday was a costly one, which made a material difference to the week as
the fun bets series ended in the red by £259, but there is one current fun
short on ftse from 5939 showing some paper profit there. Without that bad
Thursday, it would have been so different. Then again, I have finally seen the
light and let's see what happens in the coming week.
Currently, there are no consistent
winners in the Club. I think J did the best in the past week with some good
trades on SPX500, but it has been a choppy week. Our former Moostar trader MS
has been very quiet these days, guess he is still fighting over his bearish
intents. But it is a bull market, MS, so need to be as flexible as possible.

they come, with no prior convictions/expectations at all. While it has been an

When oil hits 110 dollars on nymex
this week, I knew I had made a real mess of that opportunity on oil in 2012.
Alas, yet another good opportunity not taken advantage of. Seeing is only the
start of things, or confusions or frustrations. And the 13th Series has not had
a good start either. It is 103 quid in the red. Got frustrated with the lack of
movement on ftse, particularly for morning sessions and then made mistakes for
yankie openings, being foxed by some fake movements. It has been one very poor
run and need some purple luck to the rescue.

Well, my dream of chasing the riches
with oil trades ended in disaster, as the 12th Series of fun bets ended at 1089
pounds in the red. Things really turned nasty this week, as I lost the footing
in a fast trending market, trying to scalp up and down, and got heavily
punished and then the mind got a bit jammed into a losing boxer with blood over
the eyes sort of mentality, lol. It all went very bad since I fatally cashed in
that long at 9966, the best position to benefit full from this trendy run. Well,
I have to say it turned really nasty. Now need some time to recover and regain

Had a hit and miss sort of week again and the fun bet series is still just over

it went pear-shaped again). Oil
trading is fascinating though, it is rather a mechanical process, with every

"Sometimes you can only laugh
at the fairness in life. After several years studying the markets, I am quite
sure from time to time I can see the future, fairly accurately, too!
But somehow, there seems to be a
cunning logic in there that if you can see into the future, then you may not be
able to cash in on that insight. Alas, why allow me to peep into the future
while not allowing me to make some good money out of it! I can only laught with
bursts of tears, no sadness at heart, plenty of torments between joy and pain
in my
soul.
I had the perfect map for Friday in
the morning studies and we had the perfect upstream mooriver to be crossed from
the lowerbank to the upperbank. But a jittery moment
on the observation of oil (which was
correct, but didn't impact on ftse in the same way) pushed me to jump out of
the best-priced long on ftse into a stupidified short. The rest is history and
the fun bets are now 568 quid in the red.
While there is a block between the
mooriverwatcher and moorivertrader, there are two rules which I must stick to,
no open positions on oil (meaning either no positions or no unlocked positions)
before the oil inventory news on Wednesday and same applies to all major news
event, like the non-farm payroll. I seem to have this gambler's streak in
daring these major newsflow and try to grab a piece of the thrill in beating
the markets in a big way, well, it often turns out to be the wrong way.
In terms of trading, ideally, should
trade the perfect moorivers whenever available. But I am going to give the oil
trades a bit more time, as by trading oil, I was becoming really flexible both
ways and nimbler than before. It seems that trading indices often links one's
perceptions about reality while trading something like oil is just pure
technical trading, which is what trading ought to be, really. I believe I have
got the mooriver map for oil for February and beyond, so I will trade oil for
the coming week with the occasional ftse trades when there is a good crossing
opportunity there like Friday.

"Well, it has been a miserable
week. The potential of oil trading is so obvious and for the first two days,
could have made so much more money on the fun bets. But alas, in this
spreadbetting game, the key is not about winning money, but about not losing
big on mistakes and a tiny breach on a stoploss triggered a series of wrong
decisions on the oil trades. And the fun bets ended on 376 quid in the red.
Still, I am going to experiment with the combo of ftse and oil trades, avoiding
ftse on Tuesdays and oil on Wednesdays--the two most lethal days for these two
markets respectively.
Our MF is sticking to his recovery
plays and sending me the timely alerts, which are very much appreciated. Our J
is still keeping an eye on the Bradley turndates for us all. But I am going to

Ended the week on a nice oil short,
which set my pulse racing for the Black Beauty. I am going to give the oil
trades a go for the coming week and see how it pans out. With oil trades, must
use guaranteed stoploss either way, to be on the safe side. I am looking
forward to the coming week with a thumping heart. Overall, still got stuck in
the mud with index trading, which caused the fun bet series to be stuck in the
red for £265. But if you can trade oil, trade well, then things could be turned
around fairly quickly. I have got the mooriver map laid out for oil for the
coming week and let's wait and see how it pans out.
I have to say our MF has got onto
the moostar podium again. His recovery share play is working out very well for
him (e.g., JJB and HMV etc). I am thinking of devoting a small fund to his

Well, we had a funny sort of week as
I took some time to settle back into trading after the break. In the end, the
11th Series of fun bets ended on £678 in profit over a duration of two months.
After the exciting 9th Series ending over 1000 pounds in profit and a
disastrous 10th Series deeply in red, this is normality returned. The
simplified trading system has worked to a reasonable level of satisfaction, as
it reduces market noises and human greed by a large extent. Still some
tinkering to be done, but this simplified version of Moorivertrading System
should deliver the 1000 pounds profit per series from here onwards. I hope so,
anyway.
